Welcome to the YMCA of Greater Richmond.  You are now part of a community of individuals joined together by a shared commitment to nurture the potential of youth, promote healthy living and foster a sense of social responsibility.

This Member Guide is a great tool to help you get acquainted with our facilities and understand our policies and guidelines.  Amenities will vary depending on which facility you are visiting.  We encourage you to take some time on your first visit to speak with any one of our helpful staff members to better understand your branch’s amenities and any other policies outside of this Guide.

Refer a Friend

When you refer a friend that joins the YMCA, you get a free month of membership!  And there’s no limit on the number of free months you can receive.  So share the YMCA love! See membership staff for details.

Child WatCh

YMCA Membership includes free Child Watch for our members ages 6 weeks to 11 years old!  We’ll watch your little one while you workout, swim, play basketball or more, as long as you stay in the building.

Guest Policies

guest policies

  • GUEST PASS & POLICY

    • Adult guests 18 years of age and older must provide a photo ID.
    • All guests must be accompanied by an active YMCA member.
    • Youth guests under the age of 18 must have their legal guardian create a non-member account in order to be the guest of a member.  Select the branch where you’ll be visiting followed by the “NON-MEMBER” account type.  Enter the parent/guardian information first, followed by adding any additional adults or children on the account.

  • GUEST FROM OTHER YMCAS

    • We welcome YMCA members from other YMCAs outside of the Greater Richmond area.  Out-of-area YMCA guests receive full membership privileges and may also bring a guest for a fee.  Ask the member services staff for information on any usage restrictions.

  • GUEST PASSES

    An individual may be a guest at the YMCA up to 6 times per year.  After that, we encourage guests to look at our various membership options and come as often as you like!

    Guests may use the YMCA facility accompanied by a YMCA member for $5 per youth (up to age 18), $10 per individual and $20 per family.  As a YMCA member, you may be entitled to a few FREE guest passes each year.  Ask the member services staff at your branch for more information.

    Guests may leave the YMCA and return the same day provided they are with the member of whom they are a guest.
