Ensuring that all children are given the necessary tools to prepare for learning and a brand new school year. Yearly the Y will support over 2,500 students. A gift of $175 gives one child the tools and support to thrive. With your gift, you are investing in a child’s future.

LTS is a session of FREE swimming lessons that is supported by the fundraising efforts of Y donors in your community with the goal of saving lives through water safety education and swimming instruction.

YMCA Middle School Alliance

YMCA Middle School Alliance is committed to eliminating barriers to expanded learning opportunities for all youth, regardless of their academic background or income. This includes providing transportation and food to ensure that all youth can participate in after-school programs. FREE programs and explore your interests and hobbies through coordinated learning experiences!

ASD Swim Lessons

FOR 2nd graders in the richmond area

Through YUSA CDC Grant projects YMCA of Greater Richmond serves youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Participating Branches include:

• Chester
• Thornton Aquatics Center 
• Manchester
• Midlothian
• Patrick Henry
• Shady Grove 

Each branch collected pre- and post-swim evaluation data and gathered feedback from both staff and participants. This year’s tools tested included YUSA’s Community Needs Assessment Tool and the Safety Around Water Family Activity Guide—which YGR adapted into our very own SAW Week Coloring Book.
