What is Adventure Guides?

Go with your child on a journey of discovery with YMCA Adventure Guides/Princesses.  The program allows fathers to spend one-on-one time with their child in a fun environment.  Its purpose is to foster a strong parent-child relationship through quality time spent together.

  • Spend quality time together
  • Go on 2 camp-outs a year
  • Be pals forever and friends for life
  • Experience tons of fun activities
  • Attend events such as the Family Pow Wow, Daddy Daughter Dance, and more.
  • And so much more!

Program Details

When: Adventure Guides runs from September – May, as well as one summer event.
Ages: Children 5 and up are eligible, along with their dad
Price: Prices vary branch to branch based on equipment provided by the YMCA or provided by a camping facility.  Find out more on our Adventure Guides Registration Page.

At the Tuckahoe Family YMCA, the cost includes program entry, YMCA approved events, patches, resources, Y Staff Assistance, YMCA room reservations for tribe meetings/events.

At the Shady Grove, Patrick Henry and YMCA Camp Thunderbird locations, the cost includes program entry, YMCA approved events, patches, resources, Y Staff Assistance, YMCA room reservations for tribe meetings/events, 2 campouts a year (fall and spring).
