We will open the outdoor pool to the maximum allowed capacities based on the Executive Orders from the Governor’s Office that ensure a safe experience for our members and guests.
In accordance with Governor Northam’s recent announcement, effective May 15, masks will no longer be required to be worn by people who are fully vaccinated. Please visit the CDC’s website to learn more about what it means to be fully vaccinated.
To see our current capacity, login to your YMCA account, click “View Account”. Under “Branch Capacity,” choose Midlothian and then “View Areas” in the blue box. You’ll see the current capacity for the outdoor pool.
Lap Lanes are available for Outdoor Pool members on a first-come/first-serve basis. Reservations are no longer required for lap swimming.

The YMCA will close the pool in the event of inclement weather if the safety of our members and guests is at risk. While we will try to “wait out the storm”, the pool will remain closed for 30 minutes after each lightning strike or clap of thunder. For more information on the Inclement Weather Policy, see our Information Packet at the bottom of this page.
Swim tests assist our lifeguards in more quickly identifying the swimmers who can be in different areas of the pool. Our swim test consists of jumping in the water, treading water for 15 seconds, and swimming 25 yards.
