Grit is designed to improve strength and build lean muscle through 30 minute High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) three times per week.
The Swift Creek Y offers an intense workout Bootcamp class that involves militaristic, calisthenic and anaerobic exercises using your own body weight, equipment and partnered exercises. Class is offered on Saturday mornings from 8:15am-9:15am. Check class schedule changes
FUNCTIONAL TRAINING ZONES
The Shady Grove & 10th Street Y’s offer a Functional Training Zone with artificial turf. The Functional Training Zones located at the Shady Grove & 10th Street Y’s are equipped with artificial turf designed for cross training. Use these spaces on your own to enhance strength, power, stability, and mobility to improve fitness and performance.
MONUMENT AVE 10K TRAINING TEAM
Train with us for the Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k with on the YMCA 10k Training Team. This could be just what you need to get to the finish line, meet some new running buddies, and get motivated to be fit and active. The Training Team runs annually January-April.
Join us at the Petersburg Family YMCA for our Annual Strongman Competition in February. The competition will have a 1-rep max Bench Press, Squat, and Deadlift along with a Power circuit afterwards.
Must be 18 years or older to participate.
