Central Virginia Age Wave

Our commitment to the aging population to improve loneliness, reduce or manage chronic disease and improve balance are why we sit on this work group. The Greater Richmond Age Wave is a collaboration of public and private organizations, businesses, and individuals including older adults working to prepare for the opportunities and challenges of our region’s growing aging population.

Northside Strong

A group of service providers, community organizations, faith based organizations, civic groups coming together to share ideas, data, and resources to improve in a collective effort overall quality of life of Richmond’s Northside neighborhoods

Petersburg Wellness Coalition

The goal of the Petersburg Wellness Consortium is to leverage existing partnerships and resources to improve health outcomes for Petersburg residence.

Henrico Health Advisory Team

An advisory committee formed to complete a Community Health Needs assessment for Henrico County and prioritize priorities can create action plans.

Pillars of Health

Works to ensure access to overall wellness information for children and their families defined as “poverty level” and “working-class” through disease prevention and scholastic education, healthy lifestyles experiences, nutrition and lifestyle coaching, and research.

Urban Agenda Partnership Committee

A collaborate group working to increase outdoor recreation in the Tredegar, Browns Island, and Bell Island area of Richmond City.

Virginia Oral Health Coalition

The Virginia Oral Health Coalition is an alliance of hundreds of partners who believe oral health is an essential part of overall health care.  The Coalition’s mission is to ensure all Virginians have access to affordable, comprehensive health care that includes oral health. The Coalition convenes several workgroups of state- and community-level stakeholders who want to collaborate to improve oral health in all aspects of life and for all populations.

Virginia Diabetes Council

The Virginia Diabetes Council brings partners together to identify and promote best practices for diabetes prevention, control and treatment in Virginia. The YMCA is an active Board & community member of the VDC.  Diabetes prevention and management are strategic priorities for the YMCA of Greater Richmond.
