Are you ready to amplify, intensify, and electrify your summer? Swift Creek Family YMCA’s summer day camp provides 10 one-week sessions for rising Kindergarten through 8th grade that will take summer to a new level.

Camp Swift Creek

Are you looking for a summer full of fun and excitement, outdoor adventures and new skills, memorable counselors, and lifelong friends? Camp Swift Creek has it all in our traditional Summer Day Camp! Our trained and certified staff will work with each child in a small group setting focused on teambuilding and fun. They will build relationships, foster a sense of belonging and create opportunities for each of our campers to achieve and learn in new and exciting ways. At Camp Swift Creek, we are more than just a safe place for campers to play. We offer a wide range of engaging specialist activities, 30 minutes of reading every day, as well as character development and swim lessons! Every week has a fun and exciting theme with an educational focus and exciting twist. Join us for a summer of unforgettable experiences that will transform your camper into a YMCA legend! A Typical Day at Camp Swift Creek Includes:

  • Creative Arts: Music, Dance, Drama, Art Projects, Skits, Songs, and more! Unleash your creativity!
  • Outdoor Sports: Gaga Ball, Soccer, Basketball, Field Sports, and more! Physical activity just got a camp twist!
  • Marksmanship: Basic and Advance Archery, Slingshots, and B.B. guns are here for you to learn safety and new skills from our Range Master!
  • Aquatics: Dive into our pool for swim lessons and free swim taught by our skilled Aquatics Staff Team!

Ages: Rising Kindergarten – 5th Grade
Times: 7 am – 6 pm
Dates: 10 weeks beginning June 17
YMCA Members: $175 per week   Non-Members: $231 per week

Leaders In Training (LIT) at Swift Creek

Want a transformational experience and still have a blast? Join the LITs of Camp Swift Creek and get the best of both worlds out of your summer! LITs (Leaders in Training) get to participate in typical camp activities but will also have leadership development workshops and fieldtrips. LITs have a big role in camp and serve as role models to the younger campers. Focused on service and team building, this program helps teens develop their leadership style. The LIT staff use an experiential learning approach to teach personal development and build lasting relationships. Join the best team around and have a summer full of impact and adventure at Camp Swift Creek!

Ages: rising 6th – 8th grade
Time: 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Dates: 10 one-week sessions, beginning June 17
YMCA Member: $175 per week   Non-Member: $231 per week

Camper In Leadership Training (CILT) at Swift Creek

The Camper in Leadership Training (CILT) program is designed to teach and inspire rising 9th and 10th graders. Hands-on training experiences and professional development workshops provide the foundation of the program. Participants will learn basic safety, group control, games, camp best practices and engage in activities that provide valuable employment skills, healthy relationship and opportunities to lead.

Ages: Rising 9th – 10th grade
Times: 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Dates: 4 two-week sessions beginning July 1
YMCA Members: $180 per session   Non-Members: $199 per session

FINAL FOUR at YMCA CAMP THUNDERBIRD

Final Four is our post-camp experience* that happens the week after camp ends and before school begins. It runs Monday through Thursday at Camp Thunderbird!  We offer bus stops at Tuckahoe, Shady Grove, Downtown, Midlothian and Manchester. Come celebrate the end of summer at Camp Thunderbird with swimming, fishing, gaga, crafts, reading and a few more surprises!

Ages: Rising K – 8th grade
Times: 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Dates: August 26 – 29
YMCA Members: $180   Non-Members: $209

*Camp activities and availability will be adjusted due to staffing during this week.  

Bus Pick-Ups available at the Shady Grove Family YMCA, Tuckahoe Family YMCA and Millworks Center (across Woolridge Rd from the Midlothian Family YMCA).
