Northside Camps


Summer camp has come to a close.  But read below what exciting programs we offered.  Program offerings, prices and other details may change in 2019.

Registration for YMCA members begins February 1 and for non-YMCA members on February 15.


Camp Braveheart

Camp Braveheart offers a traditional outdoor summer camp day camp experience! Our trained and certified staff will work with each child in a small group setting. They will build relationships, foster a sense of belonging and create opportunities for each of our campers to achieve and learn.  We offer a wide range of engaging specialist activities, 30 minutes of reading every day, as well as character development and swim lessons. Every week has a fun and exciting theme with an educational focus and exciting twist. YMCA Camp Braveheart you belong here!

DSS Accepted and Financial Assistance Available.

Ages: Rising K – 5th graders
Times: 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Dates: 10 one-week sessions beginning June 18
YMCA Member: $117 per week   Non-Member: $147 per week


Final Four is our post-camp experience* that happens the week after camp ends and before school begins. It runs Monday through Thursday at Camp Thunderbird!  We offer bus stops at Tuckahoe, Shady Grove, Downtown, Midlothian and Manchester. Come celebrate the end of summer at Camp Thunderbird with swimming, fishing, gaga, crafts, reading and a few more surprises!


Ages: Rising K – 8th grade
Times: 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Dates: August 27 – August 30
YMCA Members: $183   Non-Members: $217

*Camp activities and availability will be adjusted due to staffing during this week.  

Bus Pick-Ups available at the Downtown, Manchester, Midlothian, Shady Grove and Tuckahoe YMCAs.

Leaders In Training (LIT)

The LIT program focuses on personal development, goal setting and learning to work as a member of a group. The program prepares LITs for leadership roles at camp and in their communities. The LITs participate in typical camp activities but will also have supplemental projects focused on service and team-building.

Ages: Rising 6th – 8th graders
Times: 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Dates: 10 one-week sessions beginning June 19
YMCA Member: $117 per week   Non-Member: $147 per week

Camper In Leadership Training (CILT) at Northside

The Camper in Leadership Training (CILT) program is designed to teach and inspire rising 9th and 10th graders. Hands-on training experiences and professional development workshops provide the foundation of the program. Participants will learn basic safety, group control, games, camp best practices and engage in activities that provide valuable employment skills, healthy relationship and opportunities to lead.

Ages: Rising 9th – 10th grade
Times: 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Dates: 3 three-week sessions beginning July 2
YMCA Members: $240 per session   Non-Members: $265 per session

Northside All Sports Summer Camp

Our All Sports Summer Camp is for kids who want to discover new talents, be active and play sports! You don’t have to be a super athlete… you just have to love athletics! The All Sports Summer Camp is open to boys and girls ages 6-13, regardless of whether they’re an expert or a novice. Teams are co-ed, a mix of skill sets, and based on age. The main objective is to focus on individual skill development, team work, sport-specific knowledge and sportsmanship. Campers will enjoy instruction on basketball, flag football, soccer, tennis, and ultimate frisbee. 

Ages: 6 – 13 years old
Times: 9 a.m. – noon
Dates: Week of July 9 – 13
YMCA Members: $65   Non-Members: $95
