Summer camp has come to a close.  But read below what exciting programs we offered.  Program offerings, prices and other details may change in 2019.

Registration for YMCA members begins February 1 and for non-YMCA members on February 15.

 

Camp Saponi at Midlothian

Camp Saponi offers a traditional outdoor summer camp day experience! Our trained and certified staff will work with each child in a small group setting. They will build relationships, foster a sense of belonging and create opportunities for each of our campers to achieve and learn.  We offer a wide range of engaging specialist activities, 30 minutes of reading every day, as well as character development and swim lessons. Every week has a fun and exciting theme with an educational focus and exciting twist. YMCA Camp Saponi – you belong here!

A typical day at Camp Saponi may include:

  • Arts: creative arts, camp songs & skits, and music & drama
  • Sports:  field games, gym games, and gaga ball
  • Archery and Shooting Sports: archery, slingshots and bbs.
  • Nature: outdoor education
  • Aquatics: swim lessons and free swim.

Ages: Rising K – 5th graders
Times: 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Dates: 10 one-week sessions beginning June 18
YMCA Member: $168 per week   Non-Member: $224 per week

FINAL FOUR at YMCA CAMP THUNDERBIRD

Final Four is our post-camp experience* that happens the week after camp ends and before school begins. It runs Monday through Thursday at Camp Thunderbird!  We offer bus stops at Tuckahoe, Shady Grove, Downtown, Midlothian and Manchester. Come celebrate the end of summer at Camp Thunderbird with swimming, fishing, gaga, crafts, reading and a few more surprises!

THIS CAMP IS LOCATED AT YMCA CAMP THUNDERBIRD.

Ages: Rising K – 8th grade
Times: 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Dates: August 27 – August 30
YMCA Members: $183   Non-Members: $217

*Camp activities and availability will be adjusted due to staffing during this week.  

Bus Pick-Ups available at the Downtown, Manchester, Shady Grove, Swift Creek (recently added) and Tuckahoe YMCAs, as well as Millworks (across the street from the Midlothian Family YMCA).


Leaders In Training (LIT) at Midlothian

The LIT program focuses on personal development, goal setting and learning to work as a member of a group. The program prepares LITs for leadership roles at camp and in their communities. The LITs participate in typical camp activities but will also have supplemental projects focused on service and team-building.

A typical day at Camp Saponi may include:

Camper In Leadership Training (CILT) at Midlothian

The Camper in Leadership Training (CILT) program is designed to teach and inspire rising 9th and 10th graders. Hands-on training experiences and professional development workshops provide the foundation of the program. Participants will learn basic safety, group control, games, camp best practices and engage in activities that provide valuable employment skills, healthy relationship and opportunities to lead.

Ages: Rising 9th – 10th grade
Times: 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Dates: 3 three-week sessions beginning July 2
Members: $240 per session   Non-Members: $265 per session


Midlothian Basketball Camp

Learn the basics of basketball; dribbling, passing and shooting in this half day camp. The core values of respect, responsibility, honest and caring are cornerstones of this program.

Ages: 5 – 12 years old
Times: 8:45 am – noon
Dates: 3 one-week sessions beginning June 18, July 16 and August 13
YMCA Member: $60 per week   Non-Member: $90 per week

Lacrosse Camp at Midlothian

Learn the basics of lacrosse; dribbling, passing and shooting in this half day camp. The core values of respect, responsibility, honest and caring are cornerstones of this program.

Ages: 8 – 12 years old
Times: 8:45 a.m. – noon
Dates: Week of July 9 – 13
YMCA Member: $60 per week   Non-Member: $90 per week

Soccer Camp at Midlothian

Learn the basics of soccer; dribbling, passing and shooting in this half day camp. The core values of respect, responsibility, honest and caring are cornerstones of this program.

Ages: 5 – 12 years old
Time: 8:45 a.m. – noon
Dates: 2 one-week sessions beginning June 25 and July 23
YMCA Member: $60 per week   Non-Member: $90 per week

Sports & Splash Camp at Midlothian

Learn the basics of basketball, t-ball, soccer and other sports. Camp will end each day in the Water Spray Park. The core values of respect, responsibility, honest and caring are cornerstones of this program.

Ages: 3 – 5 years old
Times: 9 – 11 a.m.
Dates: 4 one-week sessions beginning June 4, July 2, July 30 and August 20
YMCA Member: $40 per week  Non-Member: $70 per week


Midlothian Arts & Splash Camp

Activities and Games themed around water. Camp will end each day in the water spray park. The core values of respect, responsibility, honesty, and caring are cornerstones of this program.

Ages: 3 – 5 years old
Times: 9 – 11 a.m.
Dates: 4 one-week sessions beginning June 11, July 9, August 6 and August 27
YMCA Member: $40 per week  Non-Member: $70 per week


Midlothian Lego Camp

Join other Lego lovers and learn that building with Legos is all about problem solving, engineering challenges and mostly FUN.

Ages: 7 – 10 years old
Times: 9 a.m. – noon
Dates: 2 one-week sessions beginning June 25 and July 30
YMCA Member: $65 per week  Non-Member: $105 per week
