Field trip for campers at Camp Monacan

Message from the Director

What a successful week three here at Camp Monacan! We have explored what it means to be a scientist, created a lot of fun/messy experiments, and had a blast at the Science Museum of Virginia. Camp is truly an amazing time for your kids to learn new things and step outside of the box. I hope that everyday they are excited to tell you what they were up to all day long. I love hearing from you about how your camp experience is going- please continue to communicate with me and the rest of the team here.

Campers enjoy play time outside of the YMCA

Message from the Director

It has been a successful week two here at camp, it seems like the time is just flying by! This week’s theme was; treasure hunter. We had a blast looking for buried treasure (with pudding and skittles), going on a Y scavenger hunt, and playing a lot of ships and sailors (an awesome group game).

It has been a joy getting to know you and your children! Please don’t hesitate to contact me to ask questions or if you just want to let me know how your child is doing in camp.
