At the YMCA of Greater Richmond, we emphasize each person’s abilities and individuality by offering programs that foster independence while providing positive recreational and educational experiences.  Our qualified staff and community partners help individuals gain confidence, promote independence and responsibility, and nurture a healthy and active lifestyle.

We offer specialized exercise equipment, water accessible wheelchairs, pool lifts and assistive accessories to help meet every person right where they are.

If you are seeking specific accommodations for a program or event, please reach out to the program director at your local YMCA branch or contact Tricia Puryear, YMCA of Greater Richmond VP of Social Responsibility.

We’re always looking for caring volunteers to connect with participants and provide support. Get involved today.

All YMCA community engagement and Adaptive and Inclusive programs are supported by the generosity of community donations. Learn how you can make an impact.

Miracle League

The Miracle League at the YMCA OF GREATER RICHMOND provides a safe recreational opportunity for children and young adults to play the game of baseball. The sports complex includes a custom-designed field with a cushioned rubberized surface to help prevent injuries, wheelchair accessible dugouts, and a completely flat surface to eliminate any barriers to wheelchair users or visually impaired players. Everyone hits. Everyone crosses home plate. Everyone wins!

EveryBuddy Summer Day Camp

EveryBuddy offers children with diverse abilities a traditional day camp experience in a breathtaking natural setting. With a lower staff to child ratio (1:3), campers interact with their peers, learn new skills, and experience 100 acres of expansive nature trails, pools, kayaking, canoing, hiking and so much more.
