The Virginia Department of Social Services licenses child day care centers across the Commonwealth, for purposes of safety and quality.
YMCA Camp Thunderbird is a state-licensed child care provider.
Licensed programs must meet the standards promulgated by the Child Day-Care Council. The Virginia Department of Social Services enforces these standards by inspecting centers at least twice a year and investigating complaints.
For your reference, our current license is always posted in our Craig Youth Center, along with a copy of our most recent inspection report.
