In response to request from local residents and as a result of market research, the YMCA of Greater Richmond began construction on a 45,000 facility in western Chesterfield County in November. The site, located at the intersection of Hampton Park Drive and Otterdale Road, will meet community needs identified by in-depth market research.

The Swift Creek Family YMCA will benefit the whole family by offering:

• Wellness support and personal training in a state-of-the-art fitness space
• Instructor-led group exercise classes formatted for different ages, abilities, and interests
• Welcoming and safe social areas for seniors and teens
• Water fitness opportunities for all ages in the indoor pool
• Adult and youth recreation space in a full-size gymnasium
• Youth sports games on outdoor athletic fields

The Y anticipates a grand opening in 2012 for the new facility.
