For nearly a century, the Y has led the way as the nation's largest and most respected provider of summertime activities for youth. Based on our core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility, day camps at the Y allow your child to grow in a fun, nurturing environment.
KINDER CAMP
Kinder Camp is a week of art, singing, games, learning centers, cooking and outdoor play built around weekly themes. Bring a peanut/tree nut free snack. We provide curbside service. Campers must be independently potty trained.

SPORTS CAMP
Sports Campers will receivequality instruction in sports such as soccer, basketball, football, YMCA group games and more! Coaches work with campers to challenge them and give them the attention needed to develop and grow, learn drills and practice skills is each sport.

SUMMER EXPLORERS
Summer Explorers allows children to enjoy arts & crafts,drama & theater, ooperative games, environmental studies and free swim, with not as much outside time as a traditional outdoor day camp offers. Students in this camp spend time three days a week exploring the city around us through interesting field trips, special events and cool guests. Come make new friends all summer or just during a few one-week sessions. Campers will need to wear tennis shoes and outdoor clothing and bring a water bottle, bagged lunch, sunscreen and hat.

CAMP KANAWHA
Camp Kanawha offers children a traditional outdoor day camp experience. Your child will make memories, have lots of summer fun and make lasting friendships while participating in daily swim activities, archery, low ropes course, arts & crafts, nature activities and field games. Attend all summer or choose from among 11 one-week sessions. Campers will need to wear tennis shoes and outdoor clothing and bring a water bottle, bagged lunch, sunscreen and hat each day.

CAMP MOHAWK
Looking for a cool place for your teen to hang out this summer? Bring them to camp where teens are encouraged to develop social and leadership skills and self confidence through active participation in community service projects, character development discussions, field trips, games, activities, swimming and more. This program is held in one- week sessions throughout the summer. This camp is a fun and challenging way for teens to express themselves in a positive atmosphere, have fun and make new friends.

TEEN EXTREME CAMP
Are you an EXTREME teen? Join us as we ride, slide, explore and climb our way through the summer. Teens will spend the week traveling to local venues for extreme activities such as rock climbing, kayaking hiking, tubing, camping, swimming, sports and more! AFTER SUMMER SCHOOL CAMP
Transportation will be provided from certain summer school sites in the Glen Allen area to the Y. (Specific locations will be available once HCPS determines which school will be housing their 2013 summer school programs.) Campers will participate in many outdoor camp activities, swim several days each week and enjoy all the afternoon fun of camp!

SUMMER SPECIALTY CAMPS
Shady Grove's specialty camps will focus intensely on one subject and are intended for youth who have a genuine interest in the topic being explored.
