Aquatic Fitness

 

Improve your cardiovascular fitness, muscular conditioning and flexibility. We offer a large variety of water-based exercise classes including water walking, water aerobics, water sports and more.

DEEP WATER
Participants use flotation devices to suspend themselves in the water. A variety of traveling and stationary movements are done to challenge the muscles and provide a moderate to high intensity workout. This class is a great cross-training activity for those who do high impact sports.
Duration: 60 minutes.

JUST MY SPEED
If you are just beginning to exercise, if you are pregnant, or if you are recovering from an injury, this low intensity full-body workout is just what you need. The class includes a thorough warm-up, a 30-minute cardiovascular and strength-training segment, and a cool down using range of motion stretching.
Duration: 45 minutes.

THINNING FINNING
A self-paced, power-toning class using flippers and other resistance equipment to help you slim down and burn calories. Great for lap swimmers looking for something new. Swimming ability helpful, but not required. 25-45 minutes.
Twinges and Hinges: This class is an Arthritis Foundation/YMCA Aquatics Program. It is designed to provide gentle range of motion for participants with arthritis or similar joint problems.
Duration: 45 minutes.

H2O PUMP
Moderate intensity water aerobics. This class is comprised of 35 minutes of aerobics followed by 15 minutes of toning using a variety of equipment.
Duration:60 minutes.

WATER STRIDES: (Walking/Jogging in the water)
Great for your first water aerobics class. Water Strides is a fun, practical alternative or addition to jogging or walking on land. The water provides extra resistance while protecting you from injuries common to higher impact activities. A variety of moves and equipment make this class a versatile and challenging class that will increase your strength and improve your balance and bone density.
Duration: 45 minutes.

CARDIO POWER
Moderate to high intensity water aerobics. Designed to really burn fat, strengthen muscles, and build endurance, this class includes an intense cardiovascular component followed by a strength-training segment utilizing a variety of equipment.
Duration: 60 minutes.
