Lifeguard Training

 

This program allows individuals to become certified lifeguards. It includes lifeguard, first aid and CPR/AED certification. Prerequisites for the course: Must be at least 15 years old and be able to swim 300 yards continuously showing breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Tread water for two minutes using only the legs. Complete a timed event within 1 minute and 40 seconds.

Upon successful completion of these classes, participants may apply for an aquatics position within the YMCA.

2nd class April 6-10 4-9pm (a portion of this class will be done online)
