Let's Get this Girls-Only Wellness Party Started!
YMCA GirlForce is a health and fitness program for girls ages 7 - 12. This innovative workshop promotes physical activity, healthy eating habits, positive body image, and smoking abstinence. The goal of the program is to help all girls achieve their fullest potential physically and emotionally.
YMCA GirlForce program starts with a four-hour introductory retreat. An 8-week session follows at your local YMCA. Financial assistance is available.

Fall Retreat
In this four-hour workshop, girls are introduced to the joy of movement, healthy eating, self-expression, positive role models, and essential information that reconnects them to body wisdom and inspires fitness. Girls must attend one YMCA GirlForce Retreats in order to participate in the eight-week session.
- Sunday, September 28, 2008 from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Chester Family YMCA or the Shady Grove Family YMCA

Please note registration fills up fast and will end at 9 p.m. on September 25

Please make sure girls come fully prepared to take part in the
exercise portion of the program, which includes loose fitting clothing
and exercise shoes

Please make sure your child gets to the retreat on time!

Sign-in on retreat day begins at 1:45 p.m.

Girls must attend a retreat before participation in an eight
week course.
Fall 2008 Eight-Week Session
Girls meet twice weekly over eight-weeks. The next eight-week session will run September 29 through November 20. Sessions combine lessons in noncompetitive exercise, nutrition, body image, and smoking prevention. In addition to making friends, girls experience new activities such as recreational sports, field trips, healthy cooking, and much more. Girls must attend a YMCA GirlForce Retreat in order to participate in the eight-week session.
