SUMMER DAY CAMP
For nearly a century, the Y has led the way as the nation's largest and most respected provider of summertime activities for youth. Based on our core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility, day camps at the Y allow your child to grow in a fun, nurturing environment.
Full enrollment for camp will take place at the branch. If you wish to begin the process of registering for summer day camp, you may make an online reservation.
MAKE YOUR ONLINE RESERVATION
Completion of online forms and payment of initial deposit and registration fee RESERVES a spot in the YMCA Camp program. To complete the registration process, all forms required by Virginia Department of Social Services licensing regulations must be returned to the YMCA two weeks prior to the start of the program.
A one-time registration fee applies to each child attending camp, and must be included with registration. If a child attends multiple camp sessions, the fee only needs to be paid once.
YMCA membership must be valid and the account must be in good standing for the duration of the program. Learn more about YMCA membership options.
Open to All Policy
If financial assistance is required, online reservation is allowed with payment of initial deposits. Applicants must submit required financial information to the branch where the program is offered for consideration. Requests are processed in 5 – 10 days.

"Fun in the Sun" Finger Foods
Learn some fabulous "Keep 'em cool" recipes to start off the summer. We will make ice cream, cold melon soup, snow cones and more! Each child will receive a cook book with all of our recipes and an apron too! Join us for this "Sun"sational Summer camp!

"Beach Week"
We understand that everyone can't make it to the beach during the summer, so we are bringing the beach here! Join us all week long as we slip, slide and "swim" in our many water-based activities on our new fields! Let's build some sand castles as we enjoy the warm sun only the summer can bring!

"Mad Science" Camp
Join the exciting science fun with hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and chemistry "magic tricks." Together, we will make slime, foam, bouncing Jell-O, fizzy water and more! At the end of our camp, we will have a helium balloon release!

The Babysitters' Club
Babysitters-in-training learn how to care for younger children safely and playfully. Campers will create a Kids Care Manual filled with information to use while babysitting including safety issues, games, songs, crafts and snacks. Campers will also receive hands-on training in our Child Watch program.

YMCA CAMP THUNDERBIRD OUTDOOR CENTER
For a more rustic camp experience, check out YMCA Camp Thunderbird Outdoor Center. For more than 40 years, YMCA Camp Thunderbird has provided fun and enriching activities in an outdoor environment. Located in Central Chesterfield on the edge of Swift Creek and Pocahontas State Park, YMCA Camp Thunderbird boasts 100 acres of wooded beauty. Our six-acre centerpiece, Lake George, provides a timeless backdrop for the YMCA Camp Thunderbird experience. We provide FREE bus stops throughout the Greater Richmond community offering this truly unique experience to as many children as possible.
